We brought you news of Anakeesta Adventure Park back in January, and have been following the progress of this action-packed Gatlinburg attraction.
And finally…the park is open! And while the park offers adventure with the likes of ziplines and treetop walks, there is something for everyone in the family. Here’s what your Anakeesta Adventure might look like.
Begin with a scenic 14-minute ride from Downtown Gatlinburg to the summit of Anakeesta Mountain on a Chondola which features both quad chairs and enclosed 6-person gondola cabins.
The Anakeesta Chondola is the first of its kind to be built in the United States.
At the top of the mountain, arrive at Firefly Village, a treehouse-themed village with quaint shops, casual dining and seating throughout the village overlooking spectacular views.
Enjoy southern fare at the Anakeesta Smokehouse food truck featuring down-home favorites like pulled pork, beef brisket and smoked wings. Or indulge your sweet tooth at the 1940s-inspired bakery Pearl’s Pie in the Sky.
Stroll through the elevated treetop canopy walk which includes 16 hanging bridges more than 40 feet in the air.
Each bridge leads to a new observation platform where you can take in the sights, learn about your surroundings through interpretive signs and enjoy the spectacular views.
Soar through the trees on Gatlinburg’s fastest dual-racing ziplines.
Each zipline is over 1,000 feet long. The experience also includes two challenge stations where guests rappel off our platforms and enjoy a controlled 60-foot descent to a cushioned platform below.
Climb through the Anakeesta Treehouse Playground.
Guests of all ages can walk to an elevated bird’s nest where they’ll learn how an American Goldfinch cultivates its home. The interactive Anakeesta Gem Mine lets kids to mine for that special gemstone or fossil and leave with their very own treasure.
Ride the Mountain Coaster for smooth sailing through scenic views.
Simply sit back and enjoy the stunning views of Mt. LeConte and bright lights of Downtown Gatlinburg.
Admission to all these wonders is just $19.99, which includes the Chondola ride and all the activities featured on the mountain except the ziplines, gem mining and the mountain coaster which are extra. Senior and child discounts are offered.
Not that you needed another reason to visit White Oak Lodge and Resort this fall, but now you have it. Anakeesta promises to be one of the most popular attractions in Gatlinburg.
What do you think? What activities would you choose to do at Anakeesta?
