White Oak Guests Make the Smokies a Tradition

Even though Ann S. and her husband like to explore different places, there is one area that is always on their radar: the Great Smoky Mountains. White Oak Lodge and Resort has become a go-to destination for this family, where the stunning scenery takes them on adventure after adventure.

Ann shared her experiences and recommendations with us.

Where would you recommend a fellow member go to…

Eat: Old Mill in nearby Pigeon Forge, TN. Good home cooking and huge portions.

Shop: Three Bears is a wonderful variety type of store, something for everyone at reasonable prices.

Visit Fun Attractions: A comedy club or dinner show* is fun. We also love walking around to the shops in Pigeon Forge or downtown Gatlinburg.

*Some comedy clubs and shows nearby include The Comedy Barn and Hypnotized! One of the most popular dinner shows in the area is the Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Feud.
What was your favorite…

Resort/Condo Amenity: White Oak Lodge and Resort’s condos and cabins are both fabulous!

Place to go: Any trail on the Smoky Mountains! We like the Smokies best in late fall or winter. The views are phenomenal and they remind me of a winter wonderland. Breathtaking.

Why did you choose this destination? Were you traveling for a special occasion?
Until five years ago we had never been to the Smoky Mountain area. The first time was for our 30th wedding anniversary and now we try to go every year.

What was your favorite memory of your vacation?
The scenic drive up and over the mountain and seeing various waterfalls and wildlife.

Any tips for a traveler to this resort or destination? Anything you think they should bring?
Everything you need is at the cabin or condo, but we bring various food items if we want to make breakfast or snacks. Be sure to bring small snacks and plenty to drink if you are doing any hikes.

Why do you think traveling is important?
To relax and to take a break from everyday life. To experience new adventures each time and to have a wonderful getaway with loved ones. Seeing new places we have not seen before is always interesting.

We hope you will like White Oak Lodge and Resort and the Smoky Mountains enough to create your own family traditions year after year!
