National Quartet Convention [VIDEO]

The biggest event in Southern gospel music is coming to Pigeon Forge this fall, so if you’re staying at White Oak Lodge and Resort and you have a soft spot for gospel music, you might want to check out the National Quartet Convention.

The Convention is an annual gathering of Southern Gospel quartets and musicians held at LeConte Center in Pigeon Forge. During the Convention, evening concerts are held that are open to the public so visitors from all over can enjoy powerful performances from the best gospel artists.

Here are some highlights from the 2014 Convention.

The event usually attracts visitors from at least 40 states and several countries, including Australia, New Zealand and the Netherlands. Last year’s event had 40,000 attendees.

In addition to nightly concerts, there are autograph opportunities and tradeshow events. Guests can also visit The Island for shopping and dining. A tram is available between the LeConte Center and The Island.

This year’s National Quartet Convention is Sept. 27-Oct. 3, but if you won’t be around then, no worries. The NQC has committed to perform in Pigeon Forge in 2016 as well. Next year’s dates are Sept. 25-Oct. 1, 2016.
