Ole Smoky Distillery Turns Moonshine into Gatlinburg Attraction

Did you know the first federally licensed distillery in Eastern Tennessee is right here in Gatlinburg? That’s right, next time you visit the White Oak Lodge and Resort, be sure to check out the one and only Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine Distillery.

Since the recent legalization of moonshine, America’s most-visited distillery, known as “The Holler,” has been booming. Ole Smoky has been improving on the craft by creating different flavors through local corn and passed-down secrets. And they give visitors the full experience!

You’ll have free samples of their unique flavors, some that you won’t be able to find in package stores, such as White Lightnin’, Moonshine, Cherry, Blackberry, Apple Pie, Peach, Lemon Drop and more. Take a tour with the distillers and hear about their history.

The authenticity explores all five senses: Smell the cooking and fermenting. See and hear the process. Taste and feel the goodness.

The Holler features a stage for live music which rounds out the atmosphere. If you want to see a special performance by the Grammy-winning Soggy Bottom Boys, whom you may have heard in the film O Brother, Where Art Thou?, come by March 22 at The Holler stage. It’s the first time they will perform together on stage as a band! The free show starts at 5 p.m.

If you’ve wanted to experience moonshine done the right way, look no further than Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine Distillery while staying at the White Oak Lodge and Resort.
